Shiva Sundaram, Republic TV’s chief financial officer (CFO), on Friday was summoned by the Mumbai Police of Republic to record his statement in connection with the TRP-fixing racket which the Mumbai Police said to have “busted”.

Along with Sundaram, others who were summoned included the chairman and managing director of Madison World Sam Balsara and the CEO of IPG Mediabrands Shashi Sinha.

Mumbai Police joint commissioner (Crime) Milind Bharambe later informed the media that the trio was called to record their statements under section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

“Mumbai Police has called me to be present at their office. I have no idea regarding what they have called me or what they will ask me. So, I cannot say anything as of now. I will go and meet them tomorrow,” reported Hindustan Times quoting Sinha.

“I am a client of BARC. Mumbai police have requested my help to aid the investigation which I am happy to do,” Sam Balsara informed the media.
