The shooting incidents took place as the security forces were conducting clearance operations.
In Yangon, according to video posted on social media show crowds of people, some wearing hard hats and gas masks, running down a street amid sounds of gunfire.
The use of fire extinguishers is intended to smother tear gas and create a vapour screen that makes it harder for police to pursue or shoot demonstrators.
Meanwhile, the British Ambassador at Yangon on Monday said he is appalled by the security forces’ use of deadly force against innocent people.
“The British Government is appalled by the security forces’ use of deadly force against innocent people,” the British Ambassador said in a statement.
The statement from the British Ambassador comes following violence in Hlaing Thar Yar and elsewhere in Myanmar on Monday.
