Infidelity rate is high among married Indian women, as compared to the married Indian men, a survey revealed on Wednesday.

According to a report from global extra-marital dating app Gleeden, 53 per cent of married Indian women have an intimate relationship outside their marriage, as compared to 43 per cent of men.

The survey revealed that over 40 per cent married Indian women admitted to getting physically intimate with someone other than their spouses.

The survey further revealed that 26 per cent of men admitted to having sexual intercourse with someone other than their wives.

“Indian women seem particularly open-minded about infidelity, especially when it involves romance,” said Gleeden marketing director Solene Paillet.

“Gleeden offers a virtual environment where start a new love story with like-minded individuals without the downside of a real-life affair,” Paillet added while releasing the report.

Paillet said that since Gleeden offers complete privacy to the women and as they can enjoy a full romantic experience, the app has been able to attract over 8 lakh users after it was launched in 2017.

“Gleeden is attracting more and more female users every day,” Paillet added.

The said survey was conducted online and involved a sample size of over 1,500 people.

Participants were from major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad.

The target respondents were married individuals and were between the age group of 25-50 years.

The results further revealed that around 50 per cent of married people in India confessed to having had an intimate relationship with someone other than the spouse.

The results also revealed that around 47 per cent of the respondents have already indulged in casual sex and around 46 per cent have indulged in one-night stands.

The survey further revealed that around 48 per cent of Indians believed that one person can be in love with two different persons at the same time.

The survey also revealed that 46 per cent thought it was possible to continue cheating on a person while still be in love with him/her.
