West Indies captain Kieron Pollard on Wednesday became the third player in international cricket to hit six sixes in an over.

The 33-year-old batsman tore into Sri Lanka’s Akila Dananjaya hitting six sixes in an over in the first T20 International (T20I) against West Indies at Antigua.

In the match, West Indies won over Sri Lanka by four wickets.

Pollard has followed the footsteps of South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs who was the first player to do it in an ODI against the Netherlands in the 2007 World Cup and India’s Yuvraj Singh who achieved the feat in the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup against England.

Yuvraj Singh had smashed England’s Stuart Broad for six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Pollard on Wednesday became the second batsman to achieve the feat in T20Is and the third in international cricket.

According to a match report, on Wednesday the first delivery of the over disappeared over cow corner while the second was powered straight to the sight-screen. Kieron Pollard targeted long-off on the third delivery and went over deep midwicket for the fourth.

The West Indies captain smashed a half-tracker over long-on on the fifth delivery and went over deep midwicket again to complete the six sixes at Antigua.
