A woman in Kerala has tested positive for COVID-19, a few days after she was reportedly cured of the disease.

The patient had recently returned the UAE to Kerala.

“This is worrisome,” experts said after the test results came positive after getting cured.

However, the experts have ruled it out as a case of re-infection.

“This is more likely to be a case of a resurgence of the viral remnant,” the experts said.

“Maybe, she had not fully recovered,” the experts further said citing another possibility.

It is worth mentioning here that viral remnant is a condition where the virus remains dormant even after recovery, but it doesn’t show infectious tendencies as it is in a weakened state.

“The resurgence of the virus calls for a detailed study,” doctors said.
