Sugar itself is not the enemy but too much consumption of it can be harmful to health. Sugar is an essential part of a balanced diet. But in todayโ€™s generation excessive sugar consumption is leading to various health hazards such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, etc. The rate of diabetes patients are rapidly increasing because of the unhealthy lifestyle of people. People are so addicted to consuming readymade fruit juice and cold drinks which contains an excessive amount of sugar. People do not realize how these packaged beverages are harming their health. Excessive consumption of sugar can badly effect the health of the people in longer term.

How excessive sugar is harming the health of children?

Children are among the highest consumers of sugar. Excessive consumption of sweets, cold drinks, chocolates can harm the health of children in many way. It can increase the risk of tooth decay, lead to rise in overweight concerns, and the most harmful is that it can elevate the chance of getting type 2 diabetes, rise in blood pressure and heart diseases later in life.

Parents should strictly keep an eye on what their children are consuming and guide them to consume a balanced diet. They should make sure that the children do not consume excessive sugar and guide them towards a healthy life.

Teenagers of todayโ€™s generation are addicted to readymade beverages and trending food items. The instinct of trying new food items among teenagers is very common. The teenagers love cafรฉ hopping and trying new dishes and desserts. The consumption of these food items and beverages are slowly affecting the health conditions of the teenagers. The teenagers should strictly avoid the consumption of excessive sugar and stat eat healthy to maintain a better lifestyle.

It is also very important to start workout and exercises for a better physical and mental health. Teenagers should exercise at least 15-20 mins a day.

Excessive consumption of sugar significantly affects the adults between the age of 30-50. Many people of this age group are diabetic. This is due to thelong termeffect of continuous consumption of unhealthy food and sugar for a long time.An  unhealthy lifestyle since teenage can lead to various health issues during this age group.An  unhealthy lifestyle of people can effect the skin health, gut health, dental health and many other areas. Therefore, it is very essential to maintain a good food habit before its too late.

Importance of consuming healthy food and doing exercise

Adopting a ย good and balanced food habit is one of the most important matters in todayโ€™s world where people are addicted to junk food and beverages made with excessive amount of sugar. A proper balanced diet can save people from various health issues in the long run. People should switch to real fruit juice that are made at home instead of those packageddrinks that contain artificial flavors and excessive amount of sugar. Fruits produce natural sugar which is enough for a human body to gain energy.

Junk food should be replaced with green vegetables cooked at home. Junk food may contain artificial ingredients and harmful substances such as Ajinomoto and artificial food colors which are extremely harmful for our gut health.

It is important for peoplestarting  from teenage years through their adulthood to exercise at least 5 days a week. Working out on a regular basis can help to maintaina good physical as well as mental health. It can improve insulin sensitivity ,making the body better at using sugar,andhelps to fight diabetes and other health issues. Exercising also helps in reducing obesity and prevents weight gaining.
