Indian Museum is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Library and Information Officer, Head Modeller, Hindi Translator, Modeller, and Driver-cum-Mechanic in 2026.
Name of post : Library and Information Officer
No. of posts : 1
Pay Level in Pay Matrix: Level – 6 (Rs.35,400 – 1,12,400/-) & other allowances as per 7th CPC and as applicable to Indian Museum, Kolkata.
Age limit : Not more than 30 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications from the candidates in India
Essential Qualifications :
(i) Masters or equivalent Hon’s Degree of a recognised University in Indian History or Anthropology or Arts.
(ii) Diploma in Library Science of a recognised University or Institution.
(iii) 7 Years’ experience in a Library of standing in India preferably a Museum Library.
(iv) Research experience with evidence of published research work in Archaeology or Art or Anthropology.

Essential Qualifications :
(i) Degree or Diploma in Modelling sculpture from a recognised University or Institute.
(ii) About 5 years’ experience in a responsible position of working on sculpture models and allied works

Age limit : Not more than 28 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications from the candidates in India
Essential Qualifications :
i) School Final or equivalent examination passed.
ii) Degree or Diploma of a recognised Art College or a comparable institution in Arts
with specialization in modelling.
iii) At least 3 years’ practical experience in modelling.

Pay Level in Pay Matrix: Level – 5 (Rs.29,200 -92,300/-) & other allowances as per 7th CPC and as applicable to Indian Museum, Kolkata.
Age limit : Not more than 28 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications from the candidates in India
Essential Qualifications :
i) Graduate or equivalent degree of a recognised University in Hindi in addition to English.
ii) At least 5 years’ experience in Translation work in any big establishment
Name of post : Driver-cum-Mechanic

Pay Level in Pay Matrix: Level – 4 (Rs.25,500-81,100/-) & other allowances as per 7th CPC and as applicable to Indian Museum, Kolkata.
Age limit : Not more than 28 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications from the candidates in India
Essential Qualifications :
i) Class 10th pass from a recognised Board;
ii) Professional skill in driving with thorough knowledge of Car mechanism, general smartness and possessing of permanent license of Motor driving.
iii) 5 years practical experience in driving, and ability to carry out minor repairs etc.
