Indian Army emerges ‘best’ at Cambrian Patrol Exercise in UK

The Indian Army has won Gold at the Cambrian Patrol Exercise held in the United Kingdom. 

The Indian Army was up against 96 teams that included special forces and regiments across the globe.

The Indian Army was represented by the 4/5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) in the exercise held at Brecon in UK’s Wales from October 13-15. 

The exercise is regarded as the “ultimate test” of human endurance and team spirit. It is the “Olympics of military patrolling”.

Chief of general staff of the Royal British Army – General Mark Carleton Smith presented the gold medal to the Indian Army team. 

Meanwhile, Indian high commissioner to Great Britain – Gaitri Issar Kumar also felicitated the Indian Army team at India House. 

The Indian Army team was lauded on its navigation skills, delivery of patrol orders and overall endurance for completing the patrol, said a statement from the Indian high commission in London.
