India has registered 1,32,364 new Covid19 cases and 2,713 more deaths to the infection in the last 24 hours, the Union health ministry said.

The country’s overall Covid19 positive tally now stands at 2,85,74,350.

India currently has 16,35,993 Covid19 active cases, as per the data available on the Union health ministry website.

So far, a total of 3,40,702 people have lost their lives due to Covid19 infection.

On June 1, India recorded 1,27,510 cases, which was the lowest figure since April 8.

On April 8, India had reported a total of 1,31,968 Covid19 positive cases while the country witnessed 1,26,789 new cases on April 7.

Tamil Nadu has recorded the largest number of Covid19 cases with almost 25,000 cases.

In the last 24 hours, Delhi recorded 487 new cases, Mumbai 961, Bengaluru 3,533, Kolkata 976 and Chennai recorded 2,062.

In the last few days, India continues to record over on lakh new Covid19 cases in every 24 hours.

For the first time on May 17, new Covid19 cases came down below the three lakh-mark.

On May 7, 2021, the country recorded the highest number of positive cases at 4,14,188.

India has recorded more than 80,000 deaths in the last three weeks.

On May 21, India recorded 4,529 Covid19 deaths, which was the highest number of deaths due to Covid19 in any country in a day since the Coronavirus outbreak in China’s Wuhan in December 2019.

India surpassed 4,468 Covid19 deaths in the US on January 12.

Earlier, India surpassed 4,211 Covid19 deaths in Brazil on April 6.

A total of 2,07,071 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 2,65,97,655 Covid19 cases till date, the Union health ministry said.

A total of 22,41,09,448 people have been vaccinated so far in the country including 28,75,286, who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said.
