The union health ministry on Friday said that there is presently 3.42 active COVID-19 case in the country, of which that less than 1.94 per cent are in ICU, apart from 0.35 per cent on ventilator support and 2.81 per cent is being given oxygen.
The recovery rate has improved to 63.33 per cent, the ministry further said.
On Thursday, the recovery rate was 63.25 per cent.
The ministry further added that the actual caseload of COVID-19 cases in the country as on date is 3,42,756.
Over 6.35 lakh patients have recovered from the disease o far, the ministry added.
With an overall population of 1.35 billion people, the country has 727.4 cases per million population and this is four to eight times lower than some European nations, the ministry added in a statement.
“The country’s case fatality rate at 18.6 deaths per million is one of the lowest in the world,” it said.
