The disengagement process along the India-China border at both the banks of Pangong Lake in Eastern Ladakh is now complete.

As per reports, India and China will discuss disengagement in three other locations – Depsang, Hot Springs and Gogra at a Corps Commander-level talks scheduled for Saturday.

This will be the 10th round of senior commander level talks between militaries of both the sides.

The 10th round of military talks will start at 10 in the morning on Saturday at Moldo near Chushul on the South Bank of Pangong.

Armies of both the sides – India and China reached an agreement on disengagement at the North and South banks of Pangong Lake that mandated both sides to cease forward deployment of troops in a “phased, coordinated and verifiable” manner.

Both sides pulled back troops, tanks and other equipment from the banks of Pangong Tso, which became a flashpoint in the prolonged border dispute.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on February 11 had informed the parliament that India and China have agreed for a complete disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

“I am happy to inform the House today that as a result of our well thought out approach and sustained talks with the Chinese side, we have now been able to reach an agreement on disengagement in the North and South Bank of the Pangong Lake,” Rajnath Singh had said in the Parliament.
