Sensation prevailed after a minor fire was reported at the main emergency ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi in the early hours of Monday.
However, according to reports, no was injured in the incident.
The firefighters immediately rushed to the spot and were able to douse the fire within a short period.
A media report quoted the Delhi fire department as saying that the fire began at 5 am on Monday.
The fire was brought under control within an hour, the fire department said.
All the patients were safely evacuated from the affected areas, the report said.
The fire also spread to the education room area of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The officials informed that an investigation is underway to find the actual cause of the fire.
A week ago, a fire broke out at the ninth floor in the Convergence Block.
The Convergence Block houses diagnostic laboratories and examination sections, of the hospital. No injuries were reported and the floor of the hospital was vacated within a short time.
Sources said the fire was caused due to short circuit in a refrigerator at the ninth floor.
