“We will file an FIR against Mamata Banerjee for disrespecting the National Anthem, if required,” West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said.

Adhikari added: “She is working according to her political advisor and wants to be the next Prime Minister. But people are with Narendra Modi and he will win next time with over 400 seats.”

Mumbai BJP leader Vivekanand Gupta in a letter to Police Commissioner – Hemant Nagrale alleged, “The act of Mamata Banerjee abruptly stopping the national anthem amounts to showing utter disrespect to it. She committed an offence under section 3 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act-1971.”

“Mamata Banerjee was sitting down at first then stood up and stopped singing halfway the national anthem of India. As a Chief Minister, she has insulted the culture of Bengal, the national anthem and the country and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore,” the West Bengal BJP said.
