The alleged indifferent attitude of Prabhu Agarwalla Construction Private Limited, a road construction major, in repairing the Mangaldai-Bhutiachang State Highway-4 in the part from Tokonkata to Panery under Panery LAC has irked the residents of the area.
The alleged unholy nexus of PWD officials and the construction company has given free hand to the latter. The repair work, which has not gained momentum, has caused untold miseries to the people of the region.

The National Integrated Livestock Mega Farm at Samrang in Samdrup Jongkhar province of Bhutan is one of upcoming mega projects which will face great hindrance if the road repair work is not completed soon.
Sources said the State PWD minister during the previous Congress regime, Ajanta Neog had allotted the stretch of 19 km of the Mangaldai-Bhutiachang road to the company at an estimated amount of Rs 28.77 crore in 2011 and the construction work was completed in 2013.
The company was allotted additional fund of Rs 2 crore for repairing the road from Borkhola to Panery in 2016-17. But the work from Towkonkata to Paneri has been largely ignored.
