Bollywood actor Govinda has tested positive for COVID-19.
Govinda is currently under home quarantine.
Govinda tested COVID-19 positive on Sunday morning.
Govinda said he is under able medical guidance.
Govinda was tested positive for COVID-19 following mild symptoms.
Talking to IANS about his health, Govinda said: “I have been testing myself and taking all the necessary precautions to keep the coronavirus away. However, I tested positive today following mild symptoms. All others at home have tested negative. Sunita (wife) has just recovered from Covid-19 a couple of weeks back.”
Govinda added: “I am under home quarantine and under able medical guidance. I request everyone to please follow all the necessary precautions and please take care.”
Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja said, “We got the report today only and Chichi’s (Govinda) report came positive. He is doing fine, has very mild symptoms, and has quarantined at home and we are constantly in touch with the doctor who is guiding us and keeping an eye on his symptoms.”
Sunita also added, “After him testing positive, we all got ourselves tested and everybody at home has tested negative, including the staff.”

A spokesperson said, “Despite utmost precautions, unfortunately Mr Govinda Ahuja has tested positive for COVID-19. He has mild symptoms and is home quarantine. Mrs. Sunita Ahuja requests all those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. He seeks blessings and wishes of his fans and friends from India and abroad.”
Earlier on Sunday, actor Akshay Kumar also tested positive for COVID-19.
Akshay on Sunday shared on Twitter that he has contracted the virus and is under home quarantine.
“I wish to inform everyone that earlier this morning I tested positive for Covid-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I’m under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care,” he tweeted.
The actor has requested those who have come in contact with him to get themselves tested.
