BJP MP and former Team India cricketer Gautam Gambhir filed a complaint with Delhi Police on Tuesday night stating that he had received death threats from ISIS Kashmir.
A media report quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, Shweta Chauhan as saying that police have swung into action and initiated an investigation into the matter.

“We have received an Email from ISIS-Kashmir on the official ID of MP Gautam Gambhir on November 23 at 9.32 p.m.,” said the complaint filed by Gambhir’s PS.
According to reports, the mail sent to the MP read: “We are going to kill you and your family.”
According to the report, security has been beefed up outside the residence of Gautam Gambhir in Delhi’s Rajendra Nagar area.

In 2019, former cricketer Gautam Gambhir was elected as the Lok Sabha MP from east Delhi on a BJP ticket.
Gambhir played for India at the international level for 15 years.
He announced retirement from all forms of cricket in 2018.
The former cricketer-turned-politician alleged that the threats were sent to him via his email ID.
More details about the threats are yet to be ascertained.
