At least 8 person sustained injuries in Nepal after a “pressure cooker bomb” exploded at a crowded government office in Siraha district’s Lahan of the Country.

Health condition of three of those injured in the blast are stated to critical and are undergoing treatment at the Saptarishi Hospital in Lahan.

According to reports, preparations are underway to shift the critically injured people to Kathmandu for further treatment.

The bomb blast took place on Sunday afternoon at the office of Land Revenue Office in Ward No 8 of Lahan Municipality in Siraha district of Nepal.

The “pressure cooker bomb” exploded on the first floor of the Land Revenue Office at 12.47pm.

Eight employees – five men and three women – of the Land Revenue Department were injured in the blast.

The Giot-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Revolutionary) has claimed responsibility for the dastardly attack.

“We detonated a pressure cooker bomb at 12:47pm as an action against corruption,” reads the statement from Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha.

Meanwhile, police said they have recovered pamphlets published by the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Revolutionary), an armed outfit led by Jaya Krishna Goit, from the blast site.
