In a big twist to the Amar Jawan Jyoti row, the Centre has announced that a granite statute of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to be installed at India Gate.

This big announcement was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself on Friday.

The opposition had slammed the Centre for ‘dousing’ the flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate and merging it with the flame at National War Memorial.

“At a time when the entire nation is marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am glad to share that his grand statue, made of granite, will be installed at India Gate. This would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him,” PM Modi said.
