Guwahati City Football Club (GCFC) on Friday distributed flood relief in Morigaon as part of its ‘Together for Assam’ campaign.

The Guwahati City FC, in association with the Sportscraft Management started the ‘Together for Assam’ campaign on social media last month for flood victims of the state.

The organizers of Guwahati City FC had collected contributions from supporters and well wishers across India, and it was used for the relief camp held on Friday at Sukutiputa in Central Assam’s Morigaon district.

In fact, the flood-prone Morigaon district in Central Assam is badly affected every year during the monsoon season.

Even this year, several thousand people were rendered homeless in Morigaon district, and some of the poor villagers even lost their lives.

As a part of its corporate social responsibility, the management of Guwahati City FC on Friday distributed dry ration, sanitizers, medicines and sanitary pads to 117 affected families at Sukutiputa in Morigaon.

A team of Guwahati City FC management, players and supporters were present during the flood relief camp.

The Guwahati City FC management thanked music superstar Zubeen Garg, owner of Minerva Academy Ranjit Bajaj, Dimapur Town Club, Shillong Lajong FC, and all the contributors and the entire football community of India for their constant support to the campaign.
