A two-day long All Assam Non-Ranking badminton championship was held at Chamuapara LP school premises of Tangla in Udalguri on Sunday. The championship was held under the aegis of Tangla Bodoland Martyrs Memorial Badminton Tournament Committee. It was sponsored by the Tangla unit All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU). This is the fourth time the championship was held here.
Bhupen Rabha Udalguri district sports officer inaugurated the event. The event was Mens double badminton championship. The championship witnessed wide spread participation of shuttlers from every nook and cranny of the state.

Madhab Daimari and Bijoy Brahma of Kokrajhar clinched the champion’s trophy. Rupam Mallick and Dipak Srama finished as the runners up at the championship. Both the teams were awarded cash prizes worth Rs.20,000, and Rs.10000 respectively besides the certificates.
