The Assam Government on December 31 midnight had released the first draft National Register of Citizens (NRC) list for the state. While the list has brought smiles on the faces of many as their names figured in the list, some found their names missing in the list. But there is no need to panic. Works for the second draft NRC are going on in full swing.

How to Check NRC 2nd Draft List?

  1. The first method is obviously the Application Receipt Number or ARN. It is a 21 digit number or bar code number is issued after submission of details to the NRC Seva Kendra or after online submission.

This 21 digit ARN is very important to search name in the draft NRC. This is also one of the most popular methods to check name in the draft list of NRC.

One can visit www.nrcassam.nic.in and click there to get the page for draft NRC list.

After that, enter the ARN carefully. Remember that the ARN is a 21-digit number, so be very careful to enter it. Before submitting the ARN check it twice or thrice to ensure that you have entered a correct ARN.

  1. One can walk into his or her respective NRC Seva Kendras (NSK) and check the name. The office timings will be notified by the NRC authority once the second draft NRC is published.
  2. The NRC authority will make arrangement to pre-register mobile number by sending an SMS to certain mobile numbers which will be announced later.
  3. The NRC authority will also announce toll-free numbers to check name in the draft NRC.

The date for publication of second draft NRC

The NRC state coordinator Prateek Hajela has already informed that the second draft NRC would be published on June 30, 2018. Currently, Family Tree and Special verification are going on. So one will have to wait till June 30 to check his or her name in the draft NRC.
