A workshop cum awareness programme on ‘Digital Payment and Cyber Crime’ was held at Tangla College on Tuesday.

The programme was organized by IQAC and Commerce Department in collaboration with NIELIT, Guwahati and SBI, Tangla Branch.

IQAC Coordinator Dr Satyendra Kr Sarmah explained the importance of awareness for digital payment under Digital India Programme. Probationary Officer, Tangla SBI, Madhurjya Bikash Sarma explained the digital mode of banking system and related precautions. Technical Officer, SBI ,Mridul Pachari elaborately discussed digital payment and banking system in India in comparison to European countries.

Deputy Director, NIELIT, Guwahati ,Rinku Das discussed in detail cyber crime and required precaution to be taken by cyber users. The workshop was presided by Vice- Principal, Tangla College, Dr. Anjali Chakravarty and anchored by Professor Chandan Baruah. Teachers of different schools in the area attended the program.
