Acting on a tip-off, a team of West Tripura police seized a huge consignment of Yaba tablets from the Madhab Bari Inter-State Truck Terminus at Madhab Bari in West Tripura district early in the morning on Thursday.
Three persons were also arrested for possessing the banned narcotic tablets.
‘Ya ba’ is literally known as ‘mad drug’ was formerly known ‘Ya ma’, literally known as ‘horse drug’.
The banned narcotic Yaba tablets contain a mixture of methamphetamine and caffeine.

According to information, 40,000 numbers of Yaba tablets and an amount of Rs 24,000 in cash were recovered by the Ranirbazar police on the basis of inputs received from reliable sources.
“The operation was carried out in Madhab Bari Inter-State Truck Terminus at around 4:30 am,” said sources.
The three arrested persons have been identified as 28-year-old Manir Hussain, 30-year-old Alek Hussain and 25-year-old Pritam Bhowmik.
They were arrested along with the Yaba tablets.
“They were carrying the consignment of Yaba tablets in a private vehicle bearing registration No. TR 01 AZ 0657 from the spot,” said sources.
The approximate value of the recovered banned narcotic tablets is around Rs 40 lakh.
The operation was led by the sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Jirania, Suman Majumder and the officer-in-charge of Ranirbazar Police Station, Soumen Das.
