Imphal: In the search and area domination operations, a joint team of the central and state forces recovered arms, ammunition, explosives, and other war-like stores from the adjoining villages of the Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts, the police reports said on Tuesday.
The combined team of Assam Rifles and Leimakhong police station recovered arms, ammunition, and other war-like stores from Kharam Vaiphei village in Kangpokpi district predominantly inhabited by the Kuki-Zo community on Monday.

Based on specific information from their sources, the combined team launched cordon and search operations consequently recovering one each .22 rifle, 9mm pistol, 7.65mm pistol, 54mm improvised projectile launcher, two improvised mortars, two stun grenades, huge cache of live ammunition and other war-like stores.
These illegal items were recovered after the security forces retrieved three remote control IEDs with command mechanisms, 25 25-meter cortex, two live round ammunition, three fired cases, and three lithium cells from the general area of Monghlam village, Imphal East District.
The recovered items have been handed over to the concerned police stations for further proceedings, the reports added.
