Imphal: Separate operations were launched by the combined security forces at the hideouts of armed miscreants in three districts — Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Bishnupur — which yielded in the recovery of several arms, ammunition and explosives in the past 24 hours, the police said on Tuesday.
During a search operation at L Phaijang village in Kangpokpi district, a combined team of Kangpokpi district police, 22 Assam Rifles and 30 Assam Rifles recovered one 7.62mm Sniper Rifle along with a magazine, and eight live rounds, one .22 Rifle along with a magazine, one improvised projectile launcher, five projectiles, one hand grenade, ten live rounds of AK ammunition along with a magazine, two tube launchers, one telescopic sight, one LMG Bipod, one Baofeng radio set with Antenna and one radio set battery.

Another operation at Phougakchao Ikhai in the Bishnupur district resulted in the recovery of one 9 mm Carbine Machine Gun, one Single Barrel 12 Bore Rifle, ammunition and explosives.
During the operation at Torbung Bazaar, Churachandpur District an Improvised Mortar (pumpi) was recovered.
The recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur police for investigation and further legal action.
