On the eve of Eid-ul-fitr, a vicious video showing a group of tribal boys beating up a stripped bearded person black and blue somewhere in Meghalaya has gone viral on the social media.

The tribal boys were seen showering blows on the face and chest of the unidentified person on a rainy day. They were also seen kicking the helpless youth from different directions.

The victim was seen begging for mercy with folded hands. Some of the tribal boys were even seen trying kicking the victim’s private parts. The unidentified victim was bleeding, and crying loudly.

It could not be ascertained what was the reason for such an attack on the unidentified bearded person. No women or elderly person were seen at the place of occurrence of the horrifying incident.

Though the identity of the tribal youths as well as the victim is yet to be disclosed by police, the place of occurrence looked like a typical Khasi village in Meghalaya.

Towards the end of the video, unidentified victim was seen screaming for his mother’s help. It became clear towards the end that the unidentified victim was seen repeatedly out-crying for Allah’s help.  

It also could not be ascertained who shot the video and how the clip got viral on the social media. According to reports, the video got circulated in different WhatsApp groups in Meghalaya since Tuesday.

The Director General of Police of Meghalaya, R. Chandranathan told Northeast Now that he has directed his officials to identify the village, and initiate actions as per the law.

According to police officials, the incident happened at Ranikor village in South West Khasi hills, and the youths have been identified as residents of Ranikor village.

“We don’t know when the incident happened. We are also trying to identify the victim,” Maxwell Syiem, superintendent of police of South West Khasi hills told Northeast Now over phone from Mawkyrwat.
