The vigilance and anti-corruption department of Nagaland has started a probe into “false RTI disclosure” and allegation of “backdoor appointment” in the Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection Department.

The People for Democratic Rights (PDR), in press release, on Saturday claimed that they have received a letter from the department’s PIO and joint controller that the vigilance and anti-corruption police have started inquiry into the matter.

According to the release the PIO, in the letter, said the department is unable to clarify the matter on the issue at this stage as the vigilance has already started enquiry into the matter.

While appreciating the Vigilance Commission for taking cognizance of irregularities, the PDR appealed for a “fair” probe into the matter.
