Two bikers died and another person was critically injured in a road mishap that took place at noon on Sunday in Demow under Sivasagar district.
According to information, the incident took place when two speeding bikes collided head-on at Kenduguri area on the Demow-Nitai Road in Sivasagar district in which both the bike riders died.

The deceased bike riders have been identified as Phanidhar Dehingia and Tanu Gogoi.
The bikes which met with the accident are AS-04-G2479 and AS-04T-1911.
The incident occurred when Tanu Gogoi on his Hero Splender bike was returning home along with Padum Gogoi after selling cow at the Sunday market in Rajmai and collided with a Bajaj XCV 100 bike, driven by Phanidhar Dehingia, coming from the opposite direction.

Phanidhar Dehingia, aged 55 years old, a resident of Nitaipukhuri-Duwarichiga, died on the spot while 26-year-old Tanu Gogoi, a resident of Rupahibam, died after reaching the Demow Model Hospital, 500 metre away from the incident spot.
Besides the deceased, one more person was also severely injured in the mishap. The injured has been referred to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) at Dibrugarh in critical condition.
As per information, Dehingia was a former Army solder.
