The Twitter handle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “very briefly compromised” in the wee hours of Sunday.
This has been confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The PM’s Twitter handle was, however, secured later and the matter was escalated to the micro-blogging site.
“The Twitter handle of PM @narendramodi was very briefly compromised. The matter was escalated to Twitter and the account has been immediately secured,” the PMO informed.
It added that any tweet shared during the compromised period must be ignored.
