Two more COVID19 positive patients succumbed to infections in Tripura, taking the state’s death toll to 5 on Saturday.

This has been confirmed by Tripura health secretary SK Rakesh.

Both of the positive patients, who lost their lives due to COVID19 on Saturday, were women.

One of them was a resident of Manu Bazar in South Tripura district.

She was 72-year-old and was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.

On July 13, she was brought to Shantirbazar Primary Hospital from where she was shifted to Udaipur Hospital on July 14.

After she tested COVID19 positive, the woman was referred from Udaipur Hospital to GBP Hospital of Agartala on July 17 where she succumbed to COVID19 infection on Saturday.

Another 63-year-old woman from Dhalai district died in the afternoon on Saturday.

The woman tested COVID19 positive in Antigen test.

She was admitted to the Covid Care Center in Dhalai district.

When her condition turned serious she was shifted to GB Hospital on July 16 where she passed away on Saturday afternoon.

On July 12, a 72-year-old man died due to COVID19 infection in Tripura.

On July 15, another 30-year-old man died of COVID19 in the state.

The first person died of COVID19 in Tripura last month.

Earlier, a woman committed suicide in the bathroom of GB Hospital’s flu clinic.

Later, she was confirmed as COVID19 positive.
