Tripura’s golden girl Nishtha Chakraborty won a gold medal and two silvers in the just concluded ninth world kick-boxing championship in the Russian city of Anapa.
Nishtha who had earlier brought laurels for the country by winning medals in the championship held in the central Asian republic of Tajikistan achieved the highest success in the world championship at Anapa city of Russia, making both her State and the country proud.
Nishtha won the gold medal in the senior women’s group of 70 kg while the two silvers came in the women’s 70 kg line group and hard style group.
In the recently concluded world kick-boxing competition, altogether 759 contestants had participated from 12 countries.
