In a shocking incident, a woman at Khowai in Tripura was dragged out of her house and thrashed her mercilessly by a group of villagers on suspicion of her having an illicit relationship with a man of the village.
They tied her along with the man to a light post and chopped off her hair.

The incident took place on Wednesday, when the mob broke open the door and dragged out of her house.
“The woman was dragged out of her house, tied her to light post along with a man, cut her hair and beat her up black and blue. Scores of villages looked on as the woman was beaten up,” said a police official.
A case was registered at Khowai police station on the woman’s complaint.

However, no one has been arrested so far in connection with the incident.
