Agartala: The Tripura Police on Friday arrested two individuals for allegedly gang-raping a girl in Panisagar under North District on Thursday.

According to sources, on Thursday afternoon around 3:30 pm, the minor girl, a class IX student, went to buy some items from a shop near Sylheti Camp in Panisagar under North District.

Following this, she was allegedly abducted by two boys on a motorcycle.

“They then took her to the Ramnagar Dasher Khuti area forest with her face covered”, the source said.

The source added that they allegedly raped her in the forest and then left her bleeding in the forest.

“When she did not return home, her family members and neighbours began a search and eventually found her in the forest area, according to police”, said Police.

The Police said that the girl was initially taken to a primary health care centre and despite efforts to revive her, she did not regain consciousness.

The doctors on duty referred her to North District Hospital based on her condition.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team initiated an investigation.

“During their investigation, the police detained Osman Ali (23) and Ayaz Uddin (29)”, the source said.

On further verifying the two accused, their involvement was found in the incident they were arrested.
