A top leader of Tripura’s proscribed insurgent group, NLFT (BM) surrendered on Tuesday before the Border Security Force (BSF) at Salbagan on the outskirts of Agartala.
The surrendered NLFT (BM) rebel has been identified as Rana Bahadur Debbarma Roaja alias Hemchang of Bhaktomanipara, Lakshmicherra under Champahaour police in Khowai district of Tripura.
The 51-year old rebel leader, who served as self-styled captain of the outfit, joined the NLFT (BM) in 1995.
BSF officials said Rana Bahadur never returned to his home after joining the NLFT in 1995.
Earlier on October 18, NLFT (BM) cadre Jaiba Kaloi alias Litan Jamatia alias Chalai, a resident of Hallubari under Ampi police station in Gomati district of Tripura surrendered before BSF.
