Agartala: Tollywood actor-producer Dev on Tuesday said his production house, Dev Entertainment Ventures, is open to collaborating with talented individuals from Tripura and exploring the northeastern state as a potential filming destination.

Dev made the remarks while interacting with reporters at Rupasi SSR in Agartala during his visit to Tripura to promote his directorial debut, DeSu7.

Asked about the limited opportunities available to artists from Tripura in the entertainment industry, Dev said his production house was keen to work with emerging talent across various fields.

He pointed to the example of a YouTuber who has been given an opportunity in DeSu7, saying aspiring professionals from different backgrounds could approach his team with their ideas.

Dev said opportunities would not be limited to acting, adding that people working in areas such as cinematography, scriptwriting and other aspects of filmmaking could also be considered.

The actor-producer also expressed interest in using locations in Tripura for future film projects. He said producers needed to explore new destinations within India as audiences increasingly looked for fresh cinematic experiences.

Dev noted that his latest film was shot in Ladakh and said his team was scheduled to discuss the possibility of filming in Tripura during a meeting later in the day.

The actor also thanked people in Tripura for the reception extended to him and his team during their visit to Agartala.

Speaking about DeSu7, Dev said the film seeks to reconnect with audiences who had followed his earlier collaborations with actor Subhasree.

He said viewers who had watched their films in the early stages of their careers had since grown older and moved into different professions, while filmmaking itself had undergone significant changes during the intervening years.

According to Dev, DeSu7 has been made with the aim of reconnecting with audiences who have developed an emotional association with the actor pair over the years.

Subhasree, who also interacted briefly with the media, thanked the people of Tripura for the warmth and affection shown to the team during their visit.

DeSu7 is scheduled to release on October 16 during the Durga Puja festivities.
