Tripura royal scion and TIPRA (The Indigenous People’s Regional Alliance) Pradyot Debbarman has demanded re-polling for TTAADC elections in at least 60-70 booths.

Briefing the media at Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala, TIPRA chairman and Tripura royal scion Pradyot Debbarman exuded confidence that his party will secure a comfortable majority in the TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council) elections.

Polling for the TTAADC elections were held on Tuesday (April 6).

Earlier, Tripura’s main opposition party – the CPI-M also demanded re-polling in at least 65 booths across 11 constituencies.

BJP’s ally IPFT (Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura) has also demanded re-polling in at least 23 booths in only one constituency.

“Some unfortunate incidents took place in certain constituencies of the State like – Golaghati, Pekuarjala and Takarjala. We are collecting more information and we will demand re-polling in at least 60-70 booths,” said Pradyot Debbarman.

“I have already informed the Tripura State Election Commissioner and a delegation from my party will meet him on Thursday to submit the list of booths where we will seek re-polling,” Pradyot Debbarman added.

Over 85 percent voter turnout was recorded in the polling for the TTAADC elections held on Tuesday (April 6).

A total of 28 constituencies went to polls in the TTAADC elections held in Tripura on Tuesday (April 6).
