Happy Debbarma, a student of Class IX student of Holy Cross School at Pabiachhara in Kumarghat of Tripura succumbed to his injuries died due to torture of hostel warden.

A specific case has been registered against the hostel warden at Kumarghat police station under Unokoti district of Tripura nearly 160 kilometer from the capital city Agartala.

Holy cross school located at Kumarghat is a Christian missionary school.

Happy was a student of Holy Cross School at Kumarghat.

He stayed at school hostel.

His mother Rajmala Debbarma said because of Durga Puja holiday, the school vacation started from October 6 and on that day her son returned home.

But he was seriously ill and several injury marks were there on his body, said Rajmala.

According to Rajmala her son told her hostel warden had beaten him severely.

After seeing his condition the family members took him to Manu hospital at Longtarai Velly sub-division.

After the checkup the doctor admitted Happy at that hospital and prescribed for some tests.

But on the night of October 8 last, the 16-years old Happy Debbarma died at Manu hospital.

On Wednesday night his family members registered a case against Holy Cross School hostel warden Buchung Halam.

But still the police are yet to arrest him.

Rajmala Debbarma, mother of deceased Happy Debbarma also said her son was beaten up by the hostel warden black and blue.

On the other hand, Father of that school informed they have got an allegation against the hostel warden and after getting those allegations they suspended the hostel warden.

Meanwhile, the Congress leaders of Kumarghat on Thursday went to that house and they expressed their condolence towards that family.

The congress leaders also demanded for proper investigation and punishment for the guilty.

Happy Debbarma’s father and mother earned their bread through daily labour work.

The family had three children.

Happy was their only son, the other two are daughters.
