Along with the common people, several ministers of Tripura including the state Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb took part in the ‘Run for Unity’ on Rastriya Ekta Diwas to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The 2.5 kilometer run was flagged off from the Vivekananda stadium in Agartala by the Chief Minister along with other Cabinet ministers, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, and MLAs who also took part in the run to encourage the participants.

Hundreds of students, security personnel and people from various walks of life participating in the run expressed that such event along with showing respect to the great leader also helps in further strengthening the bonding between the citizens for a stronger India.
Earlier, the participants also took the pledge to be united as Indian and to realize the dream of Sardar Ballavbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India and who played the most vital role in uniting India into one strong nation.
Band show: As the nation celebrates its first Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the Tripura police and paramilitary forces took part in a colorful band show in presence of hundreds of spectators in the Vivekananda stadium in Agartala.

Seminar on Rastriya Ekta Diwas: A seminar was organized on Rastriya Ekta Diwas at the Muktadhara hall in Agartala on the eve of 143rd birth anniversary of the ‘Unifier of this Great Nation,’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Tripura Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki inaugurated the seminar by lighting the lamp in presence of the Assembly Speaker Rebati Mohan Das, Revenue Minister N C Debbarma, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Council Dr Prafullajit Singh, DGP A K Shukla, and other dignitaries.
Students from various schools, colleges were there in the packed auditorium to hear discussions of the speakers who spoke about the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India and who played the most vital role in uniting India into one strong nation.
A documentary film was also shown on the life and role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in India’s pre and post Independence period.
