The ‘rift’ in BJP-IPFT alliance in Tripura seems to have widened.

The BJP’s tribal leaders have said that they are “not interested” in an alliance with the IPFT for the upcoming TTAADC elections.

This stand of the BJP’s tribal leaders come just days after IPFT leaders took part in a mega rally at Khumulwng with the Pradyot Deb Barman-led TIPRA.

The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) and BJP’s ally in State Government – the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) recently forged an alliance for the upcoming elections to TTAADC.

Sources in the BJP party informed that the saffron party’s tribal leaders have written to Tripura BJP president Manik Saha saying that they are “not interested” in an alliance with the IPFT for the upcoming TTAADC elections.

The BJP’s tribal leaders have expressed that they want to contest in the TTAADC elections on their own.
