Six more COVID-19 patients, including a 30-year-old man, died and 527 new positive cases were reported during the last 24 hours in Tripura.

According to a bulletin issued by the State health department, six patients died during the past 24 hours, taking the total death toll in Tripura to 228.

With the 527 new cases reported on Friday, the total COVID-19 infections gone up to 20,791 in the State.

The positivity rate has shot up to 5.98 per cent, while the recovery rate has dipped to 65.58 per cent, the bulletin added.

A total of 603 patients have been discharged during the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, West Tripura MP Pratima Bhoumik, along with the District Magistrate of West, Dr Sailesh Kumar Yadav, visited the COVID treatment centre at the GB Pant Hospital and interacted with the patients admitted there.

Later, Bhowmik told media persons that the patients admitted to the COVID wards looked happy with the facilities provided by the Government.
