Tripura has registered 16 new COVID19 positive cases on Thursday.
Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet on Thursday said a total of 1,864 samples were tested in the state, out of which 16 tested positive for the virus.

“Out of 1864 samples tested for COVID-19, 16 people found #POSITIVE,” chief minister Deb tweeted.
Chief minister Deb informed that while 6 positive cases have been reported from Gomati district, 4 cases have been reported from West Tripura district and 3 cases have been reported from Khowai district.
The chief minister also informed that 2 positive cases have been reported from South Tripura district while 1 case has been reported from North Tripura district.

India has registered more than 7.69 lakh COVID19 positive cases and over 21,000 deaths till date.
The country saw a record single-day surge of 24,879 COVID19 infections which pushed the nationwide COVID19 caseload to 7,67,296 on Thursday, while the death toll climbed to 21,129 with 487 new fatalities, according to the Union health ministry data.
Earlier on Thursday Tripura chief minister Deb inaugurated Kalachara Primary Healthcare Centre during his visit to South Tripura.
The chief minister in a tweet said he interacted with the doctors and healthcare staff members.
“I believe, the healthcare units will benefit the local people,” he tweeted.
Chief minister Deb, in an another tweet said he inaugurated a health and wellness centre at Sakbari ADC village during his visit to South Tripura on Thursday.
