Tripura Police on Friday summoned Left Front convenor Bijan Dhar to the Amtali Police Station in West Tripura district connection to the provocative posts made by him and other CPI(M) leaders on social media to instigate the public.
The investigation officer Jayanta Kumar Dey interrogated Dhar for almost three hours regarding the posts updated on different social media platforms recently.
BJP leaders and members have filed several such complaints in different police stations in Tripura during the last few days against CPI(M)-led Left Front leaders.

BJP leaders claimed that such posts were politically motivated and were aimed at creating unrest in the state.
Jayanta Kumar Dey said “A case has been registered under sections 120B, 153, 153A, 506 and 109A of IPC. Accordingly a notice was issued to Bijan Dhar and he arrived at the police station for interrogation.”
“Larger conspiracy is being seen in the posts updated on different social media platform,” said Dey.
“Investigations are in the preliminary stage and hence, nothing can be revealed as of now,” he added.
The investigation officer also said that the FIR has been filed against three persons and two more will be summoned in the next few days.
