AGARTALA: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Tripura police have detained two individuals and seized a substantial quantity of Yaba tablets worth Rs 6 crores in Damcherra, located in North district of Tripura.
Bhanupada Chakraborty, SP of North district in Tripura, revealed that acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a Bolero vehicle near the Tripura-Mizoram border.

This operation, spearheaded by Sanjay Majumdar, officer-in-charge of Damcherra police station in Tripura, resulted in the apprehension of two suspected drug peddlers.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, registered under TR-01B-0314, authorities recovered 60,000 Yaba tablets concealed in six bundles.

The estimated value of the seized narcotics is an astonishing Rs 6 crores.
The detained individuals have been identified as Maman Hossain (34), a resident of Bishalgarh in Sepahijala district of Tripura and Krishna Chandra Singh (35), from Ranirbazar in West district of the state.
