The number of COVID-19 cases is increasing at an alarming rate in Tripura and recently several police personnel and healthcare workers tested positive for the virus.

After COVID-19 warriors became infected with the virus, the locals are now in a spot of bother.

On Wednesday, Tripura registered 98 positive cases taking the state’s overall tally to 2282.

Among the new cases detected on Wednesday include a canteen staff of GBP Hospital of Agartala.

As soon as his report came, 26 other staff members of that canteen were also quarantined.

Moreover, another doctor of the hospital also tested positive for COVID-19.

Earlier, four nurses of GBP hospital tested positive for the infection.

In another case, a constable of the Police Headquarters tested positive for COVID-19.

His close contacts were sent to home quarantine and the police headquarters was sanitised.

On Wednesday night, five police personnel of Khowai district also tested positive for COVID-19.
