AGARTALA: Tripura police achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending four drug dealers in Bhati Dudhpur area under Kumarghat of Unakoti district.

They seized a substantial quantity of Heroin along with cash and other incriminating evidence.

Acting on a tip-off, Tripura police personnel swiftly apprehended the suspects identified as Piklu Namashudra alias Suman, a resident of Kumarghat’s Anand Pally area, Supriya Deb from Saradapalli area of Kumarghat, Aleen Mohan Tripura, and Dharmendra Tripura from Birashi Mile area.

During the operation, authorities confiscated three packets of heroin weighing a total of 36.23 grams from the possession of the accused.

Furthermore, a significant amount of cash amounting to Rs 15,130, along with 1200 empty vials and five mobile phones, were recovered from two cars associated with the perpetrators.

The seized vehicles bore the registration numbers TR O5 E 0769 and TR O4 A 3686.

The market value of the confiscated heroin is estimated to exceed two lakh rupees, emphasizing the seriousness of the operation.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
