Opposition parties in Tripura have accused the ruling BJP of indulging in ‘malpractices’ during the voting day of the TTAADC elections.
Elections to the 28 seats of the TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council) were held on Tuesday (April 6).

Opposition CPI-M has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission accusing the BJP of indulging in undemocratic practices in as many as 86 polling booths.
“Our polling agents were forced to leave the booths. Our voters and supporters were threatened,” alleged CPI-M.
“We have demanded re-polling in 65 booths,” Gautam Das, CPI-M secretary said.

Meanwhile, all the parties have expressed confidence of a good show in the TTAADC elections.
Tripura Congress president Pijush Biswas said, “We will play a key role in formation of the next TTAADC government.
“We received information that several polling booths were rigged by the BJP. We are awaiting a final report. After we get the final report we will seek re-polling, where necessary,” said Pijush Biswas.
Meanwhile, TIPRA chairman Pradyot Kishore said that his party will form the next TTAADC government.

Fate of 157 candidates contesting in 28 TTAADC seats have been sealed.
Voting for the TTAADC elections concluded at 4 in the evening on Tuesday.
Over 80 percent voter turnout was recorded in the TTAADC elections held on Tuesday.
