Tripura observed 4th International Yoga Day on Thursday along with the rest of the world organizing Yoga sessions in various parts of the state.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister of Tripura Manoj Kanti Deb and thousands of students, troopers — all of them participated in the mass yoga demonstration  at TTAADC headquarters in Khumulwng.

Later speaking to reporters Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel said ‘yoga is health insurance with zero budget and today Yoga which originated in India is celebrated across the globe and all credit goes to PM Modi.’

Chief Minister Biplab Kunar Deb said today yoga is celebrated across 173 nations and it is Nardendra Modi’s hard work that Yoga is now acknowledged worldwide.

Tripura government has made arrangement to encourage and aware people about the benefits of yoga not only in schools, colleges but up to the Panchayat level.

BJP state observer Sunil Deodhar who arranged a yoga class at the Albert Ekka park said yoga is an Indian tradition and part of life for healthy living and should be made mandatory in the school curriculum.
