AGARTALA: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the resumption of services for two pairs of Garib Rath Express trains starting from July.
These trains will operate between Agartala in Tripura and Kolkata and Guwahati in Assam and Kolkata on designated days of the week from their respective origins.

According to NFR officials, the Garib Rath Express from Agartala (Tripura) to Kolkata (Train No. 12502) will commence its service every Wednesday starting July 03.
Departing Agartala in Tripura at 07:35 am, the train is scheduled to reach Kolkata at 02:30 pm the following day.
Similarly, the return journey from Kolkata to Agartala in Tripura (Train No. 12501) will operate every Sunday beginning July 07, departing Kolkata at 09:40 pm and arriving in Agartala (Tripura) at 05:15 am on Tuesday.

These trains will pass through key stations including Dharmanagar, New Haflong, Guwahati, Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, New Alipurduar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Katwa Jn., and Bandel Jn. en route to their destinations.
Each of these Garib Rath Express services will be equipped with 16 AC-3 Tier Economy coaches to ensure passenger comfort and convenience.
“With resuming the services of these express trains, it will fulfil the long standing demand of the people. The rail connectivity of Northeast will be strengthened with West Bengal and its capital city by these services. This will highly benefit the patients, students and other commuters of the adjacent states apart from promoting economic growth & commerce”, said NFR officials.
