Rain lashes Agartala town on Friday.

As the severe cyclonic storm Fani made landfall in Odisha, the northeastern state of Tripura also witnessed rain from this morning.

The India Meteorological department has been issuing regular updates and the norteastern states have also been warned as the storm after crossing Bangladesh may enter this region.

There are warnings of heavy rainfall with gusty wind at isolated places in the state from today for next two days.

Meanwhile, Agartala airport has also been warned and several flights to and from Kolkata have affected as the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport  there have been shutdown as situation is grave for flyers and many flights have been cancelled.
