Food is being served to the poor people in Agartala at just Re 1 per meal.
This initiative has come as a massive relief to the poor section of the society, which has been the worst affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.

Social activist Biplab Kar, who is also the president of the Tripura e-rickshaw Sramik Samiti said everything possible is being done to help the poor people, ever since the pandemic broke out.
At least 200 people are being fed every day at Re 1 per meal.
“Apart from serving meals, we have also initiated many steps like distribution of ration kits, masks and sanitizers. We started serving meals from Wednesday and we will try to continue it,” Kar said.
Kar informed that rice along with vegetable items would be served for five days a week, one day there will be egg or fish curry and meat one day.
